VISUAL INDEX OF 25 STOPS

Read the list through four geographic clusters

The number is not a race: nearby stops are grouped and city and highland days remain condition-led.

  1. 12 STOPS

    Grozny: city, culture and parks

Squares, mosques, museum, boulevard, parks, arena, viewpoint and Grozny Sea share one city base.

    12
  2. 4 STOPS

    Argun, Shali, Gudermes and Dondi-Yurt

Separates contemporary architecture, urban life and a private ethnographic collection across the east and centre.

    3
  3. 2 STOPS

    Kezenoy-Am and Khoy

Combines lake scenery and a historic-village reading in one plateau day.

    4
  4. 7 STOPS

    Argun Gorge and southern highlands

Ushkaloy, Nikhaloy, Itum-Kali, Veduchi, Sharoy and nearby routes require road-and-weather checks.

Two beautiful stops to pair with this guide

04

Cities and architecture

The Heart of Chechnya, Aimani Kadyrova and Pride of Muslims mosques, Grozny City, boulevards, parks and museums anchor the city cluster.

05

Nature and towers

For Kezenoy-Am, Khoy, Veduchi, Argun Gorge, Ushkaloy, Nikhaloy, Itum-Kali, Tsoi-Pede and mountain villages, verify access that day.

06

Do not treat 25 places as one checklist

This selection is not a programme to complete in one day. Divide it into separate clusters: central Grozny on foot, the Argun–Shali architecture corridor, the Kezenoy-Am–Khoy lake route, and the towers-and-waterfalls line through the Argun Gorge. Two or three nearby city stops can share a day; in the highlands, road conditions, weather, daylight and the return matter more than the number of pins. A short distance on the map does not guarantee a short journey, so pair every mountain day with a workable city alternative.

Read all twenty-five stops through city, plateau and gorge logic instead of compressing them into one checklist. Each cluster is a separate day or decision window.

01

12 / 25

Grozny city base

Use one city base while separating the walkable centre, cultural stops and places that require a drive.
  1. 01

    Heart of Chechnya Mosque

See central Grozny's mosque together with its park and the Sunzha riverfront, respecting worship arrangements.

  2. 02

    Grozny City observation deck

For a skyline view, verify access, tickets and final entry time on the day.

  3. 03

    Mahmud Esambayev Boulevard

A compact walking spine for central architecture, cafés and evening lights.

  4. 04

    Flower Park

A calm outdoor pause for rest and detail photography on the central route.

  5. 05

    Hussein bin Talal Park

Its broad paths suit a family plan; check current notices for events and access.

  6. 06

    Sunzha riverfront

Connects the mosque, boulevard and Grozny City on a central waterside walk.

  7. 07

    Grozny Sea

A separate drive from the centre; verify waterfront, beach, venue and event access individually.

  8. 08

    Museum of the Chechen Republic

Distinguish the main building from temporary venues and never assume opening without a current institutional notice.

  9. 09

    National Library of Chechnya

Check its programme for local publishing, exhibitions and public cultural events.

  10. 10

    Chechen State Gallery

Confirm the current exhibition, visiting hours and photography rules through the institution.

  11. 11

    Khanpasha Nuradilov Theatre

Add it to an evening only after confirming the dated programme, ticket channel and venue.

  12. 12

    Akhmat Arena

Do not assume non-match access; fixtures, identification, bag and transport rules vary by event.

02

4 / 25

Argun–Shali and the urban ring

Treat contemporary architecture, everyday life beyond the capital and Dondi-Yurt as distinct travel decisions.
  1. 13

    Aymani Kadyrova Mosque in Argun

Pair its contemporary architecture with a short park and town-centre walk in Argun.

  2. 14

Pride of Muslims Mosque in Shali

Allow time for the gardens and façade, while respecting prayer, dress and indoor photography rules.

  3. 15

    Central Gudermes

Combine the station district, mosque, squares and parks for everyday urban life beyond the capital.

  4. 16

    Dondi-Yurt

Add the open-air ethnographic site in Urus-Martan only after confirming current visiting arrangements.

03

2 / 25

Kezenoy-Am–Khoy plateau

The lake and historic village can share one high-plateau day, bounded by the road, visibility and a daylight return.
  1. 17

    Lake Kezenoy-Am

Allow a full day and verify road, fog, wind, shore access and a daylight return that morning.

  2. 18

    Historic Khoy

When pairing its stone fabric and towers with the lake, assess access, road and remaining daylight together.

04

7 / 25

Argun Gorge and southern highlands

Reduce towers, waterfalls, settlements and remote corridors around access and a safe return, not the number of stops.
  1. 19

    Argun Gorge

Not one viewpoint but a long mountain corridor linking towers, waterfalls and settlements.

  2. 20

    Ushkaloy twin towers

Do not reduce the cliff-set towers to a quick roadside stop; confirm safe parking and access with the driver.

  3. 21

    Nikhaloy waterfalls

Stairs, bridges and wet surfaces require a same-day reassessment of walking time and accessibility.

  4. 22

    Itum-Kali

Read the highland settlement, museum and gorge context together, confirming opening and access in advance.

  5. 23

    Veduchi

Check winter and summer activities separately; a season announcement does not mean every service is open.

  6. 24

    Sharoy highland corridor

Do not finalise this remote route without local checks of vehicle, permits, fuel, communications and return.

  7. 25

    Nokhchi-Keloy area

For waterfalls and mountain scenery, never treat an old event notice as today's open-road report; verify locally.
