Application window
Applications may be submitted from 86 days to 4 days before intended entry. The portal states processing takes no more than four calendar days; requested corrections may affect timing.
Passport, insurance and checkpoint
The passport must be machine-readable and valid for at least six months on application. Recheck medical insurance rules and whether your intended checkpoint is officially eligible for your visa type.
Keep the same facts from application to checkpoint
Visa type, passport number, name spelling, planned entry date and checkpoint should remain consistent from application to ticket. Use Russia's official e-visa and mission pages rather than a blog summary, and recheck nationality eligibility, passport validity, insurance and permitted checkpoints on the application day. Keep the approval offline, while remembering that a visa is not a guarantee of admission. Transit rules in a connecting country are a separate check from the Russian visa.
