A cookie is a small record that a website can store in a browser; local storage is a separate browser facility used for similar purposes. Essential or functional storage may remember choices you actively make, such as language, theme and saved itinerary stops, on your device. These preferences enable site features, are not the same as creating an advertising profile and can be cleared through the browser.
Measurement technologies may help reveal which content is useful through data such as the visited path, approximate device and browser type, referrer, interaction and technical performance. Google Analytics is a provider service separate from advertising. When measurement or another third-party technology is invoked, the provider's own retention, security and choice rules may also apply; details are set out in that provider's privacy documentation.
AdSense advertising code is present only on editorially approved long-form content; search, 404, personal-plan, tool, policy, directory and short-news pages are ad-free. This technical gate does not guarantee an ad impression: account approval, inventory, region, browser and Google policies still determine delivery.
Where consent is required, personalised advertising may be served only after a Google-certified consent management platform is active and the required choice has been collected. When that mechanism is active, you may refuse or later withdraw your choice through ‘Privacy & cookie settings’ in the footer; when it is unavailable, the link opens the explanatory page. You can also inspect, delete or block cookies and site data in your browser and use Google's advertising settings. Blocking some storage may stop the site from remembering language, theme or trip-plan choices.
