FC Akhmat Grozny

The city's best-known professional club traces its story to Dinamo in 1946, later becoming Neftyanik, Terek and, in 2017, Akhmat. Its official history says it has been a regular Russian Premier League participant since 2008 and remains there in 2026/27. Use the current club page for fixtures, squad and tickets.
Honours and best finishes

The major national honour is the 2004 Russian Cup, uniquely won while still a First Division club. That year it earned promotion and eliminated Lech Poznań in the UEFA Cup. Its best Premier League finishes are fifth in 2016/17 and 2022/23; its record also includes the 1974 RSFSR Cup.
Akhmat Arena and match day

Opened in 2011, the roughly 30,500-seat Akhmat Arena is the club's home. Buy through official channels and check gate time, stand, ID, bag and photography rules for each match. Do not assume tours on non-match days.
Academy and other sports

Youth and academy structures form the local pathway into professional football. Grozny also has wrestling, combat-sport, athletics and indoor-sport institutions; names, competition levels and public access change, so plan only against verified programmes.
